Plot[]

Atwater and Burgess celebrate Kevin's little brother, Jordan's, 15th birthday. Kevin gives Jordan a pair of Air Jordan's but has to leave to help Adam with an undercover assignment. Adam goes undercover to a bar with Eddie Greene to do a buy with Andre Walker and Kurtis Washington. At the meet, the four make small talk when Kurtis and Andre get spooked and leave, confusing Adam. Later that night, Adam goes to Eddie's place but finds him shot. He tries to save him and asks Eddie who shot him, but Eddie says he isn't a snitch and dies.

Adam believes that Andre and Kurtis realized that Adam was a cop and killed Eddie, and Adam blames himself, but Kevin assures him that it is not his fault. Halstead and Upton start asking around the neighborhood for any witnesses, but no one helps. Back at the district, Kim shows the unit a spotter cam footage recovered from the scene. They aren't able to get an ID from the video, but the video shows a man with the same height and build as Kurtis shooting Eddie and running away. Kim and Antonio visit Kurtis, but Kurtis quickly shuts them down. Voight sends Upton and Olinsky to the bar where the meet was. Upton tries to get the owner to talk, but he doesn't say anything. Meanwhile, Olinsky looks through the bar and finds a counter-surveillance device installed near the bathrooms. Upton explains to Voight how the device probably read the transmission from Ruzek's wire which is why Andre and Kurtis cut the meeting short.

Halstead tells the team that the techs got two fingerprints from Eddie's place. One was Eddie's, and the other belonged to Roland Garrett, who has a prior. They bring him in and ask questions regarding the murder. Roland tells Voight that Eddie is his stepbrother, whom he hasn't talked to in a while. Kevin knows Roland, as he owns the mini-mart near his neighborhood. Roland tells Kevin and Voight that he was at Eddie's place to catch up but doesn't know who killed his brother. Voight knows he is lying and continues to press for information, but Roland keeps with his story, scared that Eddie's killer will get to him as well.

Adam is furious that Roland won't help the police solve his brother's murder. After reviewing pod footage, Upton spots Walker's girlfriend's car in the video, so she and Ruzek get a warrant and seize the vehicle. They get to Andre's place, and Adam tells him that Eddie had no idea he was a cop. They search the car and find no traces of blood that can tie the murder to Andre. Voight tells Adam to keep his head on straight and that they will catch Kurtis and Andre dirty. Kevin gets a tip from a CI who says that Andre's girlfriend has drugs stored in her salon. The team goes to the salon, finds a kilo of drugs, and arrests the girlfriend. They try to use the girlfriend as leverage against Andre, but he doesn't flip. Instead, he yells at Hailey, which pisses off Adam, so he punches Andre. Hailey is furious and tells him that he can't go hitting people for no reason.

Back at the district, Antonio tells Voight that he will be late the following day due to a parent-teacher meeting he has to attend. The only lead Intelligence has is Roland, but he won't talk. Kevin and Adam argue about Roland's situation, and eventually, Voight tells them to bring in Roland and promise him protection. But before they could do it, Kevin gets a call informing him that patrol found Roland dead in his store, which means that Andre and Kurtis got to him to tie off loose ends. At the crime scene, Kevin is surprised to find his brother, Jordan, standing outside the store. Jordan tells Kevin he was on his way home when he saw the police cars, so he stopped to look. After looking nearby the scene, Halstead finds a gun that matches the one used to kill Eddie and Roland.

The next day, Voight talks to ASA Anna Valdez regarding the case and their evidence. He asks for a warrant, but Valdez says they don't have enough evidence to prosecute. Valdez leaves, but Voight sees Antonio talking to a lawyer across the street. He is curious, so he takes some pictures and sends them to Alvin. Back at the district, Voight tells Ruzek how his altercation with Andre is now an issue. There was a witness that saw what happened and filed a complaint. Adam confronts Upton hoping that she would change the version of her story to help him, but she is hesitant, claiming that lying can also hurt her career.

Adam is annoyed and walks away. The rest of the team finds surveillance footage outside the store where Roland was murdered. The footage shows someone like Kurtis run from the store, throw a gun into a dumpster and speed off. After zooming into the video, they realize that someone witnessed this whole thing and that someone wore a pair of brand-new Air Jordans. Kevin realizes that the shoes belong to Jordan and confront him, asking if he saw the man who threw the gun. Jordan saw the person but is afraid of telling the cops because of what happened to Roland. He eventually agrees to ID the man and comes into the district. Voight knows the risk of having Jordan testify and asks if Kevin understands. Kevin says it's the right thing to do, and they continue with the ID. Jordan IDs the offender as Kurtis Washington, and ASA Valdez finally approve a warrant for the team.

When they go to arrest Kurtis, he runs, and Kevin corners him in an alley. Voight catches up and persuades Kevin to kill Kurtis, which could clear Jordan from testifying, but Kevin hesitates. Eventually, Antonio and Hailey approach them, and Hank tells Atwater to stand down. Once they return to the district, Denny confronts Voight about the misconduct case filed against Ruzek. He tells Voight that the case just went away, implying that Voight had something to do with it, but Voight denies it.

Once the case is closed, Ruzek, Upton, Burgess, and Halstead decide to celebrate at Molly's. They give a toast to Jordan Atwater and his guts to testify, and Adam confronts Hailey about not supporting a teammate when it comes to the misconduct case. Hailey tells him that she talked to the witness and the case has gone away. He thanks her, but she is still a little annoyed at Ruzek. At another bar, Alvin tells Voight that the man he saw with Antonio earlier was the state's attorney who works with Denny. Voight realizes that Denny is coming after him and the unit somehow. Atwater takes his sister and brother out for dinner when he spots a black SUV similar to Andre's driving by. The driver enters the diner, and fearing his sibling's life, he pulls his gun out but hides it under the table. The episode ends with Atwater realizing it was another person and not a threat.
