Plot[]

The episode starts where the previous episode ended, Alvin bringing Adam to a location to see Voight waiting for him. Adam tells Voight how Woods had threatened to arrest his sister if he didn't help Woods. Voight is frustrated at Adam and offers him a deal to help take Woods down. Adam agrees, but Voight's trust in him falters. Meanwhile, Jay hangs out with Camilla and her friend Alex at a club when they bump into a young lady. While Camilla talks to her, Jay decides to go outside and wait for Camilla so they can go home. After a little while, Jay decides to leave without Camilla when he hears the sound of a car crash. He checks it out and finds the same young lady from the club shot dead. Camilla catches up with Jay, who she still calls "Ryan", but he makes her leave because she is high, and he calls Voight for help.

Later at the crime scene, Voight and Hailey meet up with Jay and ask what he is doing here. Jay alters the truth and tells them he was at the club working a CI, Camilla Vega, who isn't on paper. They are surprised to hear this, and Jay continues to tell them that the victim was also at the club. Voight, not believing the story, asks whether he was drinking or on drugs, but Jay denies the drugs. He tells Jay to go back to the district and write up his CI report while Hailey searches the victim's body for any belongings. She rules out robbery as the victims had cash on her. Back at the district, Voight talks to Jay again, asking if he was sleeping with Camilla which Jay lies and says no. Taking his word, the team continue to solve the case. At the coroner's office, the medical examiner tells Adam and Kevin how their victim was completely sober when she died, leaving the two men confused. Jay goes to talk to Camilla to ask about last night. When he gets to the bar she is working at, she introduces Jay to another friend of hers, Wallace. After Wallace leaves, Camilla asks Jay what happened after she left, and he continues to lie to her, telling her how the cops arrested him and drilled him with questions regarding the murder but released him later. Camilla tells Jay that the victim's name is Maggie, and she had met her briefly at the club. Camilla is scared, as she has never seen anybody get shot, and Jay reassures her and leaves after kissing her.

Back at the district, Adam updates the team on their victim, informing them that Maggie had been very sneaky, avoiding cameras. He eventually finds a location where Maggie lives, and Hailey and Antonio head over there. When they get inside the apartment, they find it nice and clean with mail addressed to Ella Porter. While searching the place, they hear movement and find a man entering the apartment from the back. After addressing who they are, the man reveals himself as a DEA agent and asks if Ella is okay. Hailey pieces the information together and asks whether Ella's undercover name is Maggie, with which he agrees. After talking to Ella's boss from the DEA, they decide for Intelligence to continue solving the case.

At the district, Antonio tells the team about Ella Porter, a DEA agent working undercover at club ECHO and Veil to ID a drug supplier. Ella was trying to make an undercover buy with Alex, who Jay recognizes as Camilla's friend. Voight tells Jay to bring Hailey and make an undercover buy with Alex, so they can catch him dirty. Voight also talks to Adam privately, telling him to give Woods the video of Voight taking the 20K from the previous episode and tells him that Kevin is next in line for detective. Although he is confused, Adam finally gives the video to Woods which pleases Denny.

At club ECHO, Jay introduces Hailey to Alex and tries to buy drugs from him, but Alex tells him to ask Camilla instead because she also deals. He also believes that Camilla will give Jay a better deal, as the two are sleeping together. Hailey is surprised to hear this, and Jay tells Alex he doesn't want to mix his personal life with business, so they set up a meet with Alex. Later Hailey confronts Jay, asking him about his secret relationship with Camilla. Jay, who didn't know Camilla was dealing, tells Hailey that his relationship with Camilla is what will help solve the murder. Hailey tells him to tell Voight the truth, but Jay says no and instead asks for a few more hours so that he can talk to Camilla first. Back at the district, Voight confronts Hailey, asking where Jay is, and she covers for him, saying that Jay went to talk to Camilla about the case, leaving out the secret relationship.

Jay talks to Camilla and tells her the victim was a DEA agent, which scares Camilla. She tells him the truth about how she deals a little and tells him that she is going to leave town, but Jay talks her out of it. Camilla tells Jay she loves him, which leaves Jay shocked. The team follows Alex to a garage where he drops off the cash, but before they arrest him, he runs. Eventually, Antonio and Kim get him. Back at the district, they interrogate him, threatening him with murder charges. Alex finally flips, giving away his recruiter as Camilla Vega. Jay, who was watching the interrogation, leaves to talk to Camilla.

Hailey tries to talk him out of it, but Jay is adamant that Camilla is innocent. As he leaves the district, he calls Camilla and tells her to pack a bag and meet him at the train station, but when he gets there, he finds Hailey and Voight. Voight asks him what he's doing, to which Jay replies that he is going to talk to Camilla. Voight tells him to wear a wire and get Camilla to talk about what she knows regarding the murder. Jay hesitates but finally agrees and meets up with Camilla. He tells her that Alex was just arrested, which scares Camilla, and she tells him the truth. On the night of the murder, she had run into the victim but got spooked when she heard someone call the victim Ella. She thought the victim was a cop and told her friend Wallace about it. Later in the night, Ella was found dead, implying that Wallace had killed Ella. Camilla tells Jay that she is going to leave town and asks if Jay is coming with her, and he says yes because he loves her as well, but they have to talk to Wallace first.

So later that night, the two meet up with Wallace at the bar Camilla works at, with the team outside. Jay tries to get Wallace to confess, but he pulls out a gun. Things go south when Jay tries to disarm him, and the team moves in to arrest Wallace and Camilla. Al calms Jay down, and Camilla finally finds out that Jay is a cop. They bring in Wallace and Camilla, and Voight gives Jay a few minutes alone with Camilla. He finally comes clean about being a cop to her, but she is furious, not wanting to talk to him. Al and Voight talk to Wallace, trying to get him to confess, but he denies it, claiming that Camilla killed Ella. In another room, Camilla tells Hailey and Antonio that she didn't murder Ella, saying that she was having sex with Jay during the murder. Back with Wallace, Voight shows him pictures of blood splatter found in Wallace's car, and he finally confesses to shooting Ella, hoping to make a deal, but Voight bluffs and denies him any deal.

Later, Adam meets up with Woods to talk but is surprised when Woods attack him. When asked what is going on, Woods tells him that the 20K found at the crime scene was indeed logged into evidence, which means Voight played by the book. Woods tells Adam that he isn't giving up and will continue to bring Voight down. At the district, Hailey is doing some paperwork at Trudy's desk when DEA agents come in to collect Wallace. Trudy tells her that what happened was not Hailey's fault but Jay's. Voight goes to Jay's apartment to talk, searching his place for drugs, but Jay stops him, telling Voight he doesn't do drugs, but Voight doesn't believe him. He tells Jay how he can't trust him after Jay lied about sleeping with Camilla, which jeopardized the team and the case. Eventually, Voight tells Jay that he hopes Jay doesn't get in legal trouble for his actions. The episode ends with Hailey talking to Camilla in her holding cell, telling her to leave Jay out of the truth, threatening to ruin her life if not. Camilla agrees to keep her mouth shut but tells Hailey that she doesn't know the real Jay.

Quotes[]

Camila: Like hell if I didn't know him. The person you know, that's the lie.

Ruzek: I mean, Lieutenant, what is this? Why do you hate Voight so much?
Woods: Hate? Nah. We're two dogs in a cage with one bowl of food. That's not hate. It's survival.

Camila: When the murder was happening, I was in the back room screwing your partner. Is that good enough?

Camila: So you're really a cop?
Halstead: Yah, I don't know what to say...
Camila: You make me sick. You know what it's like to be with someone who doesn't really exist? You know how that feels?

Voight: The way I see it, you got two choices. Serve me up to Woods or you can help me take him out.
Ruzek: Sarge, I'm with you. I've away been with you.
