Justin Voight (October 10, 1992 - May 25, 2016) was the son of Hank Voight. He was murdered in the season 3 finale. He was portrayed by Josh Segarra.

Biography Edit

Early Life Edit

Justin was born to Hank and Camille Voight. He had a twin sister who was stillborn.

He was notably close with Erin Lindsay, a troubled kid who his father took in and helped out.

Despite his father's status as an officer, Justin had issues with the law throughout his teen and adult years, notably, driving drunk and causing an accident paralyzing the other driver's son. This resulted in a standoff between Voight and CFD Firehouse 51, over Lt. Matthew Casey's statement in which he claims Justin was drunk and caused the accident. In turn, Justin is charged with DUI manslaughter, and sent to prison to serve out his term.

Season 1Edit

In Chin Check, Justin is released from prison, being met by Erin whom he is excited to see but not surprised his father didn't appear. He then kissed Erin who rejected him but they still celebrate his release.

During Now Is Always Temporary, Justin goes out to dinner with his father and Lindsay and entertains them with stories. Hank then tells Justin that he got him a job in sanitation to which Justin is not happy about what Lindsay tells him it’s just a job to get them on his feet again.

In Thirty Balloons, Lindsay brings Justin by the boxing gym to meet Halstead and Antonio, and as per usual Voight's son makes another indelible impression by flashing attitude, jealous of the Halstead's rapport with Lindsay. Jay later believes that Justin was jealous of them.

During Conventions, Justin is training and his father finds him. They talk and Justin starts to show that he appreciates his father for what he's done for him by stating he loves him. At the end, he appears at the apartment of Lindsay and seems to have attacked someone.

In The Price We Pay, Justin tries to explain himself but is too shaken from the event. He then leaves after realizing he should not have got her caught up. Justin is accused after a murder investigation is conducted. However, he is cleared after he turned out to be innocent and shares a hug with his father. Eventually, Hank had him enlist in the army to get grounded. Although he is shocked, he agrees to join.

Season 2Edit

During Chicken, Dynamite, Chainsaw, Justin's girlfriend Olive Morgan Voight comes to see Voight and is revealed to be pregnant with Justin's child. Voight takes her in to care for his unborn grandchild.

Justin is made aware of being a father and works harder to provide.

In An Honest Woman, Justin is revealed to have told Olive about his father's safe and she accidentally blabbed about it, causing a robbery. Olive also received a wound but not deep to harm the baby. After the people involved are dealt with, Justin returns and tells his father that he went to see Olive and she is fine. He also reveals the child is a boy and he is surprised that his father gave him his late mother's ring.

Season 3Edit

In Actual Physical Violence, Justin was going to go out to dinner with his father, wife, and son but a car bomb goes off. Fortunately Justin was told by his father to get down and him and his family survived the attack. Justin is told to go to the hospital to get checked out.

During Start Digging, Justin celebrates his sons first birthday and has a talk with his father. Justin tells his father not to bring issues because it is his sons special day and Hank agrees with him. Later on Justin is found tied up in the back of the trunk of a car with a shot to the head. He is still alive and is brought to the hospital but the staff tell Hank there is no chance of him surviving. Reluctantly, Hank says goodbye to his son and take him off of life support. Hank later tracks down the man who killed him Kevin Bingham while revealing he is Justin’s father to the man’s horror as he realizes that Hank wants revenge. Despite pleading to Hank, Kevin accepts that he’s going to die but insults Justin one last time before Hank kills him.
