Ride Along is the fourth episode of Season 6 of Chicago P.D.

Summary

A ride along goes sideways, and Burgess is faced with a difficult choice: follow the advice of Voight, or a potential new ally.

Plot

Kim and Kevin question Kendra if Trent was the man that she saw running down the alley after a while she confirms that it was him.

Intelligence scour the Stow house for Trent but there is no sign of him though they do find his brother Vince bloodied, bruised, and lying on the ground begging for help. Vince confirms that Trent was the one who attacked him stating the latter did so while high, before fleeing in his car. Vince apologizes to Kim for not believing her about his brother, stating he wanted to believe he was finally getting his act together but sees he was still up to no good.

Intelligence finds Trent at a motel where he is shown to have overdosed. Kevin wants to call it in that he’s dead but Kim is able to save Trent and he wakes up confused on everything. The officers tell him that he is going to prison for his actions and take him away.

At the precinct, Voight gives Kim an earful for what she did. Kim tries to apologize but her sergeant is not done because this kind of thing could give his unit trouble if a scandal like that is exposed. He tells her not to do it again, otherwise he will rain down all forms of punishment on her and has her leave his office before he says anything else.
